Jerrold Tarog's work in Philippine cinema spans a wide range of genres, moving from the small scale to the epic while wearing numerous hats. This restlessness is already evident in his first feature film, the multi-awarded mockumentary CONFESSIONAL (2007), extends to the critically acclaimed anti-love story SANA DATI (2013), and continues in the landmark trilogy of historical biopics HENERAL LUNA (2015), GOYO: ANG BATANG HENERAL (2018), and QUEZON (2025).  ​

Throughout the years, he has also worked as composer, editor, and writer for other directors, including Brillante Mendoza, Chito Roño, and Jeffrey Jeturian. He continues to experiment with genre, subject, scale, and form.
